Sardine Pate
Probably one of the best ways to consume this power house of a food.
Sardines are so nutritionally dense, but sometimes you just cannot handle the strong fishiness that comes with them.
This sardine pate is a beautiful toned down way that you can enjoy them, I grew up on a fish spread called anchoviet and this reminds me of that! Bit more spruced up and way more delish.
Sardine Pate
Ingredients
- 2 tins of sardines in olive oil
- 30 grams butter
- ΒΌ red onion
- 1 boiled egg
- 1 tsp capers in white wine vinegar
- 1 medium pickle
- 1-2 Tblsp dill
- Β½ tsp mustard
- 1 Tblsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor
- Blend until smooth and well mixed
- Store in small airtight containers, if freezing put a thin layer of ghee over top
- Enjoy for brekky on some fresh sourdough or as an appetiser with crackers
