Sardine Pate

Probably one of the best ways to consume this power house of a food.

Sardines are so nutritionally dense, but sometimes you just cannot handle the strong fishiness that comes with them.

This sardine pate is a beautiful toned down way that you can enjoy them, I grew up on a fish spread called anchoviet and this reminds me of that! Bit more spruced up and way more delish.

Sardine Pate

⏱ 20 minutes | 🍴 Serves 2-4

Ingredients

  • 2 tins of sardines in olive oil
  • 30 grams butter
  • ΒΌ red onion
  • 1 boiled egg
  • 1 tsp capers in white wine vinegar
  • 1 medium pickle
  • 1-2 Tblsp dill
  • Β½ tsp mustard
  • 1 Tblsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor
  2. Blend until smooth and well mixed
  3. Store in small airtight containers, if freezing put a thin layer of ghee over top
  4. Enjoy for brekky on some fresh sourdough or as an appetiser with crackers
